I didn't see markers anywhere around the course stating either how far had been covered or how far was left, except in the final km.
I really enjoyed the event, much of it ran really well, and there were relatively few things that would need to be tweaked for next year.0 -
Corrected elevation via Training Peaks comes up as 313m of elevation gain.Live to ski

Not going to be taking up my place, but still feeling good about this event!
Will do it next year but maybe at a more acceptable pace to enjoy riding through my local area.

Good blog mate.
One thing I would add though - and it was always bound to happen - is that it is asking for trouble to tell everyone to race (non licence holders included), and emphasise the race aspect, as the organisers did at various points, when many / most of the riders obviously had little experience of riding at speed in big groups.
I think there should have been more emphasis on telling non-licence-holders 'if you haven't done this before, then don't get involved, ride it like a sportive' - dunno how much good that would have done but it needed to be tried.
I was brought down five miles from the end at 25mph by someone who'd been riding erratically in my group, putting a dent in my time and my hip.0 -
Hope you are healing well.0
