Caliper to disc on Ultegra

Any reason why my 10 speed Ultegra levers would not work with, say, BB7sl ?

Looking at a steel disc braked build using my old winter bike for parts.

Done that, they operate fine on BB7 road calipers

Or use Tektro Spyres as they are superor brakes.
