Good value finishing kit

I will be building up a new frame after Christmas (assuming I'm on santa's nice list).

The frame is a CAAD10 and I have just ordered a 105 5800 groupset for it so I need to decide on bars, stem and seatpost. I don't want to break the bank but want to do the frame justice so what does everyone recommend as a good value finishing kit so I can make sure of some of the christmas discounts floating around. I was thinking of a carbon seatpost, but happy with/prefer alloy stem/bars.

Thanks

Can't go wrong with Deda Zero 1, or if feeling a bit naughty, Zero 100.

Deda Zero 100 bars and stems on both of my bikes. Strong, stiff, light, well made and reasonably priced. I would only pay more if I were going carbon.
  • Shimano Pro Vibe is nice as well.

If you want to do it justice get rid of the 105 and get Ultegra/force in the sales for the same price.

Ritchey WCS in the sales is also very good and looks very nice.

  • Thanks chaps, I've had Deda on most of my past bikes and been happy with it so its most likely again. Usually used it with a different make seatpost though. Any thoughts on the deda posts and in particular the carbon ones?

Opted for the 5800 as I have it on another bike and 6800 on another, truthfully, I can't see a discernible difference between the two and certainly, not a £200-250 difference, plus it is being built on a budget....

It's a CAAD 10. They are gooooogeous - at least chuck some Force on it. Please? What wheels are you going for?

Cannondale c1 or c2 stuff is nice and light.

I have a Deda Drittissimo carbon seatpost and it's been fine, but it's an inline model. The Deda SuperZero carbon seatpost looks lovely, but isn't cheap.
  • I'm looking to do the same thing, so am interested in seeing the recommendations.

So far I am thinking of the Deda Newton Ergonomic bars (have been recommended ergo after a fitting), the Zero 100 stem and have also just looked at this carbon seatpost that looks very good value:

Has anyone had any experience of this seatpost?

Deda Zero100. About 150 for the lot. Looks great, performs well.
  • Purchasing complete....

    Deda Zero 2 Stem
    Deda RHM 02 Bars
    Deda Superzero seatpost
    105 6800 carbon pedals
plus the usual bartape, cages etc.

Had to stick with a shimano groupset as I will be using stages and will be using the rotor bb30 - 24mm adapter.

Wheels will be a set of handbuilts and shared with the synapse (there were built for the synapse) and eventually replaced with a set of deep section carbons once the bank account recovers a bit...

Just need all the parts here now to get it built up.
