when lidl was doing their cycle cothing i bought a couple of sets of cycle lights as a backup to my cree front light and topeak rear. they were only £6.95 if i remember correctely. i use the front on flashy mode with the main cree.
however i was in Allparts (car motor parts supplier) and noticed the had a rack of Oxford Products cycle rear so gave it a once over while waiting for the parts to be brought up front.
They had the exact same thing (i mean 100% the same) but in seperate packaging. the light was £16.95 and the rear was about £8.95! make you wonder eh?

Aldi make very little on groceries and make lots on their frequent sales of "kit".

They book slots in "kit" manufacturing factories well ahead (12-24 months or even more) for the manufacturing of their stuff which is ordered in BIG quantities. As a result the factories can level out production and getting rid of peaks and troughs allows them to offer big discounts to Aldi.

    Hence their pricing strategy.
