  • I've not tried it personally but people recommend nail varnish remover (acetone):

  • If they are just plastic decals a hair dryer or heat gun will remove them.

If the are painted on, or under a lacquer layer you are in deep trouble as removing them will need more stringent processes that will damage the surrounding paint.
  • Just paint over them.

Nail varnish remover will take them off no problem.

I did my Arx stem with nail varnish remover, took about 5 mins.

I just have to look at a 3T stem and half the decals come off. if I sneeze, the other half comes off too. Not the best paint/glue...
  • Has anyone stripped decals from a a Deda Superleggara bar?

Can't abide the bit of red!

There's no lacquer so it's directly onto the matte finished carbon.
  • Most ALU/Alloy 3T stems and bars can have their decals removed with 100% Acetone and a rag. It MUST be 100% acetone, not nail polish remover (as that is often watered down Acetone).

Most carbon stems/bars/posts have a level of clear coat OVER the decals (often just a matt coat) so it's hard to remove the decals from them. As I said, 3T alloy stem and bars are no match for simple 100% acetone.

    Cheers
  • Should get a Fizik Cyrano stem. I wiped off the decals with a wet wipe (unintentionally)
