Which frame would you sell?

Cervelo R3-SL 2008 the same model and colour Sastre rode to victory in the Tour de France 2008. Bought new in 2009 and used until April 2014. 860 grams. The Cervelo is a bit long for me so was used with a 100mm stem.
or
Colnago Extreme Power 2008 built as new in May 2014. 1200 grams

I like them both but one has to go.

Or sell them both and buy something newer like a 2014 C59 in the sale or wait for a used C60.

Not bothered about electronic gears.
Pegoretti
Colnago
Cervelo
Campagnolo

Which one do you like less?

    That's the one you sell.

Then buy a new frame in the sales anyway - n + 1 and all that.

    Job jobbed innit.

  • The Cervelo is probably reaching its fatigue point... a 900 grams frame is not bound to last forever... best to dump it now... the Colnago has plenty of life left of course... no brainer

Glue them together and make them into an uber tandem.

Cervelo. superseded carbon frame. Colnago for some reason appreciating classic. Sell the Cervelo.
  • Purely from a financial outlook I'd probably keep the Colnago, as others have said they seem to be becoming more collectors items.

From my tastes I'd keep the Cervelo any day of the week- don't worry about it fatiguing anytime soon as long as you don't crash it etc as according to the manufacturers carbon has an effectively infinite fatigue life compared to metals when used properly.

But really you should just sell the one you either can bare to part with, or don't ride as much.

Well seeing as you said the Cervelo is too long, then get rid of it

    Get a nice steel frame
Ive got a Pegoretti. Which is one reason why a frame has to go.

I know a man in Surrey who has around 100 bikes. Some of them he has ridden once, a few he has never ridden. A beautiful museum of the "history of race bicycles" but in essence you only need one bike, plus some kind of mud wrestler for when the weather is not good enough to be on the road.
Britain is a nation of collectors, but it's good to let go...

  • Cervelo a-go-go...

The fact it hasn't broken already is a miracle. Get shut before it does

Maybe that's reason enough to keep it - a Cervelo that old still in one piece must be appreciating in value because of its incredible rarity
