Canyon are terrible

  • My order was fine two years ago but that doesn't mean others aren't suffering c0ckups, for the problems of online retailing, just go and read 'the everything store'
If I know you, and I like you, you can borrow my bike box for £30 a week. PM for details.

Maybe everyone who received great service should start a 'Canyon Are Great' thread? I'm sure the board would be clogged up with them. Otherwise we can expect Canyon to go out of business quite soon.

Seriously though - it must be very frustrating.

Ignore me - I'm grumpy today.

Who needs a sack when you can grow tiny bikes out of your neck? Looks painful though......

    This is clearly Canyon's.

Canyon have had these issues since they started and don't seem to be making and headway in resolving them.

    Have they?

I had no problems with mine.

Successfully delivering two orders doesn't mean they are a roaring success. As ITB points out, they won't improve unless the bottom line is impacted.

Being voted 'brand of the year' by magazine readership suggests they are a success !

They have given me £100 credit to my account. That's my vote bought.

11sp Chain Tool - dull, but I need one now
Powerlink pliers - dull, but I've lost mine somewhere

    Then it's either:

My Aeroad arrived yesterday. I wasn't expecting in until Feb, so despite the delays (which although irritating and poorly managed by Canyon Germany, were expected,) I'm happy. Advised of dispatch on Monday.

So far so good. Not ridden it yet but it was very easy to unbox and setup. It is (IMHO) a very handsome beast. No missing parts, marks on frame etc. Will give it a thorough polish before the first ride. Hoping to get out on Saturday.

Here are some (very poor) photos. They don't really do justice to the matte/gloss paintjob.

Will take some better ones outside at the weekend.

So could Canyon improve in terms of Delivery Times & Expectation management? Yes. I think 'terrible' is a bit strong though.

Let's just hope the bike rides as well as it looks.

    Very Jealous IP

One of the Movistar cars stopped right in front of me at the tour and I confess I let out a little whimper at the sight of one of those on the roof...

Gutted I'm busy on sat morning or I'd come and wheelsuck for a while. Where are you off to and what time? Could I be back by 10.30?

Who's this addressed to? If me then I plan to be in RP with a multitool for a fettle ride in the morning. Prob for 8 or 9. Then assuming I'm happy with the setup etc I 'll venture a little further afield. Maybe Windsor way.

Same problems you had with the guards. Delayed 10 weeks, sent out guards with parts missing. Knew there was an issue with it because the same had happened when shipping Asprilla's a fortnight earlier.

    No credit. Ho hum.
They did send me a half a line apology
But couldn't be arsed to check the spelling...

My guards were on a separate order, so they shipped six weeks before the bike arrived. They knew there were bits missing from that batch of guards a long time before yours even went in the box.

Ah, so quality control around suppliers downgraded from Meh to willfully useless.

Who was that going down WBR on the canyon with discs and full guards around 7pm? I was on the boris bike just at the ped-x by stevendale road.

I'm not sure if Canyon are trolling me...

They sent the fixing kit through.

Well, they sent it through for one side of the mudguard.
