The 2015 Westerley Winter Warmer is on Sunday 11 January. It starts just outside the M25 at Chalfont St Peter and heads into the Chilterns.
This year there are three versions. The long version is 110km (1200m of climbing), there is a medium route of 61km and, new this year, there is also a shorter version of around 44km. The long route is a pretty challenging winter ride which tackles several of the bigger climbs on the Chiltern ridge, while the medium route has Cryers Hill as its main climb. The new, short version is a very pretty ride that misses out all the big hills and most of the (short) main road sections.
Entry is the same price as last year: £8/£4/£4 in advance via RiderHQ (http://www.riderhq.com/events/68056/westerley-winter-warmer-1), or £10/£5/£5 on the day.
There is a manned HQ (Chalfont St Peter Scout Hut), signed route and GPX tracks, computerised timing system and plenty of food before and after (including home made cake).
If you rode last year, you'll be pleased to hear that we have changed the route to avoid going up Botterill's Lane, which always floods and so has a high risk of ice if it's a cold day. As a result, the ride has gained a couple of km in length, and now takes in some pretty lanes which were used in the original (pre-2013) route.
There's more info on the website (http://www.westerley-cycling.org.uk/winter-warmer), or PM me or post here if you have any questions.

Sadly I am away for next year's event.
Just to say that this is a great ride for anyone wanting to get out for an early season challenge. Well organised and a great route (I am glad to see botterills lane cut though, it does indeed always flood and the ice last year was really sketchy - so good call all in all!).0 -
Thanks Marcus,
Sorry you can't make it, but I look forward to watching you on TV tonight!

Just giving this a little bump as it is coming up next Sunday. The rides are steadily filling up but we can take up to 200 so there are still places left for all three distances.
I'll be doing a route check tomorrow and the cakes are being baked!0
