I have been looking for a fun little hard tail for longer rides and messing about in the forest type of bike.
I have been looking at the below bikes but I think £800 would be my top price.
Any help appreciated as cannot try either bike bike so anyone who rides one or knows someone who does would be great thanks all.

  • Hi, I think you've spotted some fun options there, both of these are on my radar for a 120mm forked trail hardtail. At 12.5kg they are pretty light as well.
BUT I am pretty sure the Meta can be bought for a little over 700 quid direct from Commencal (check the current exchange rate!), so the RRP in your link is a nonsense frankly.
  • I think I'm going to get the Vitus as gets good reviews plus the customer support looks spot on.
I'm also looking at Bird bikes but the Zero at £995 is a bit too much really but looks a great spec for the money.

If you can stretch to the Bird then do so. The over all spec (importantly including tyres which can be £60+ to upgrade alone) is so good that you won't be looking at upgrades in a few months time, so in the long run it may be cheaper anyway. Apparently it's a total blast to ride. Try to find the extra now if there is any way you can. But if you can't the Vitus looks great fro the money.
