Gogglebox? I must have missed that one.
  • Nigel Farage and his cronies are a bunch of right wing fascist b******s so god preserve us. No doubt a load of brain dead red top reading w@nkers will vote for UKIP at the next GE and we will all suffer the consequences.

Reading the paper today I see that the bloke from the family that look a bit Greek-Cypriot is standing as a UKIP candidate.

    What is going on!!

Just as an aside I think his daughter is a babe :)

Amanda Platel a Daily Mail columnist quoted a stat on question time the other week that 29% of the electorate feel there is no (one/party) that represents their interests.

    I fall into that group.

You can shove Cameron, Milliband, Clegg and Farage up your @rse.

Bally, you're quite happy with Cameron and co. I envy you, you have someone that does represent your political beliefs, you can vote with a clear conscience.

    Good grief!

I just got the top three!
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I am not 100% happy with Cameron or all his policies, no party this side of N Korea would get 100% approval. But I dread the prospect of any left of centre government. You just know the economy would go down the pan. The left may have dreams of lavish public spending but have never grasped the reality that you have to make money before you can spend it.
I don't necessarily believe in a dog eat dog society and believe there should be a welfare safety net provided not a welfare way of life.
I am not from a privileged background, certainly not a 'toff'. My old man was a miner and I was raised in a Coal Board house. We have worked for what we have, however modest. I suppose this is the root of my political philosophy. Roll your sleeves up and try to help yourselves. Yes, the state should help, but the impetus should come from the individual.

Strange that you and I seem to come from very similar backgrounds and reading your post the same kind of work ethic and opinion/purpose of a welfare state. yet we differ in our politics. Just saying. :)

Perhaps you just lost your way, Frank?
  • Well, we all could vote for Russell Brand... Wait a minute, no we can't because he won't stand. We can just hear his views without him being elected. It's all very well having an opinion, but if you're not prepared to actually put it to the test by seeing if anyone else agrees with you (standing for election) then you're just a lot of hot air.

Just going by track record, Labour has never been in power to steer Britain out of recession, but they sure have dumped us in it. This time, instead of buckling down and getting to grips with the economy, they called an election. Cowards! Now that Britain is the fastest growing economy in Europe they are hoping to get re-elected so that they can take the plaudits.
To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.

The problem with all this is the fact that they are all politicians.

Having said that if UKIP get anywhere then this country needs to take a serious look at itself.
