Might be a useless information to many but thought I'd share anyway.
Today, I fitted the 142+ wheels from my 2014 Epic to my 2015 Trek Superfly and it went in with no problems.
I know from previous searches on forums the 142+ wheels will not fit a non spesh 142 frame.
Noticed the Superfly had plenty of space between the lock ring and the drive side stay on the standard 142 wheels so I tried the 142+ Roval wheels, apart from fine tuning the gears everything went great.

Just thought soneone who has a set of 142+ Roval wheels it's not the end of the world if you changed frame to a standard 142. Check first the gap between the lock ring and drive side stay if there is more than 2mm then hopefully the Rovals will fit.
I can post photos if anyone asks.

Hello, it's been some time since your post.. but did you experience any other problems with the 142plus hub in your Superfly frame? Ik have the same ; 142 plus Roval hub in a superfly frame, fits and works fine. Only there is some tolerance in the wheel that i can't fix, even though we have placed new wheel bearings. I wonder if this has to do with the whole 142 plus thing? Thanks for replying! Best regards, Edwin
  • Hi Edwin.

I have buckled the Roval wheels front and rear after an epic crash unfortunately  .
Although, I must say I didn't have any problems with the hub.

Not sure what you mean by some tolerance in the wheel that you can't fix?

The 142+ is only about the width of the hub flanges which means the casette is a few mm further out on the hub.
If you can fit the Roval wheel and use the smallest cog without the chain catching the frame then you don't have an issue with the 142+.

Hi Ryan, i am Dutch, so i am not sure how to explain ..i meant that i thought the bearings were worn, because too much tolerance/clearing? But still same problem after placing the new bearings ; still too much clearance/tolerance..
