New wheels for a 4 year old road bike
Got a Merida road bike about 4 years ago, costing £750 new.
Was told the first upgrade on any bike would be to upgrade the wheels. The wheels which came with it are Alex Race 24.
Noticed the Mavic Aksium S road wheelset, at CRC, were down to £165. Were I to get these, how much of a difference would I see. How much better than the originals would wheels of this calibre be?
Or, would I be better getting a new bike?

Mavic Aksium is no upgrade and you wouldn't notice any difference....
Ask yourself what you don't like about your bike and what you want to do with it as a start .0
