Hi all,
Do brake levers designed for cable disc brakes also work with rim brakes? or is the pull action /cable housing size different?

If you get the right ones.
V and MTB cable discs use the same pull.
Canti and road disc use the same pull."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Side pull isn't a brake type, but it could describe V-brakes or mini v-brakes (pretty rare and only really seen on cyclocross) the latter use the same cable pull ratio as cantilever /road brakes.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
