I hope this will have a positive impact for up and coming riders. Great stuff from Helen, who didn't have the best of luck on Saturday.

Good for her, nice that riders have some concern for the young riders that are in the position they were themselves. Is there a bit of a subtext to this - critical of the way the sport funnels talent into the track to the detriment of other disciplines ?

  • I saw an interview with her a couple of weeks ago where when asked about how much help or support she gets from British Cycling she was 'quite' diplomatic and said that as they didn't have a CX coach, the best they did was to leave her alone without interfering.

Both Helen & Stef deserve nothing but praise for their efforts to promote CX and address the gender imbalance in road racing

I have videos of my 8 year old (who races CX in the central league) running alongside Helen shouting encouragement and shaking a cowbell. She's an absolute inspiration to the younger folk, and good on her for recognising it and doing something about it.

    Legend.

Inspiring words, I've met her in person and she's really nice too
