Hey everyone!
I'm new to this, but I wanted to get your opinion about a bike pedal I heard about here in Utah. It's a prototype and looks on the heavy side, but has some good potential I think.

His website has some more pics and a video of it - www.maglockbikepedal.com.

What do you think? What do you like/what would you change?

interesting, have had that idea myself. But not much info on the page (I'd prefer to have it in pics/text as well as a video).

Nope. You are going to be spending so much time cleaning the magnetic crud off the surface so you can "clip" on.

I bet trying to unclip both pedals at the same time will be fun.

Standard kickstarter solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
The comments about spds being really difficult to clip in and out is just b0ll0cks and there are already spd and spd type pedals which can be used in normal shoes (Shimano DX, Crank Bros Mallets and others).

I've seen some rubbish before, but I think that may just top the heap!

So he was rubbish at using SPD's, has invented a number of issues that have solutions already and come up with something that is both phenomenally ugly and also startlingly heavy thus while solving one non issue (he's rubbish in clipless), it creates two new ones!

Should have use electro magnets, with little switch on the bars. Next to the brake lever, shifter, lock out lever, dropper post lever and Garmin mount.

I think I'm reverting to single speed with coaster brakes.

Go fixed. Even less to go wrong.
