I just want a Supercar to look like a Lambourghi Countach, go like a Zonda, Sound like a Black Series CL65 Mercedes and make me feel like im an inch from going through the pearly gates backwards and on fire at all times, even when stationery.

I get passed by a 55 plate CLK55 AMG most days when riding to work, that sounds fantastic but for a supercar it needs to be a 12 cylinder or flat plane crank V8 (like the Ferrari 458) not a cruciform crank V8. That said the latest M135/235 BMW's sound damn good, much better than a straight six with a turbo has any right to sound at all!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

I really like the noise of big Mercs and Jags.
I pass a V12 BMW 860 most days and it sounds a bit rubbish.
  • Not really a supercar or euro barge fan maself, but they do have their place.
Would love something like a mk1 escort or 205 gti tucked away in the garage though.

Current boring car hankering is for the Volvo V40 cross country, such an awesome looking bit of kit.

Why not the V40 Enduro? Way more rad.

It needs the "#tag" for it to be rad - V40 #Enduro then it will be RAD

I used to have 2 of them a good few years ago. Great little cars but my local repair shop owner became very rich at that time...

I had a 1.9 205 GTi. My main memory is understeer, lots of it and lift off oversteer. I replaced it with a Mitsubishi VR4 which wasn't half as much fun
  • lift off oversteer is fun, tis why I like my 206..

Strangely my 2009 Mondeo diesel has lift off oversteer and some amusing torque steer. Full throttle in the first couple gears and it could go in any direction. Not as boring as a diesel sales rep car should be.
  • I had a 406 2.1 td, bought it when I was in uni for about £500.
it was the "executive" model, with electric everything, heated leather.. all still working.
looked like a sh!tbox from the outside but was ace inside.
Would waft at 110 on the motorway from bpool to London covering everything in black smog.

Eventually sold it for £900 about 10 months later as I needed beer money!
  • I'd love a 205 GTI!

I remember mt Dad havving a 405 turbo diesel as a company car when i was growing up. As you say, but dull to look at but my God it was fast :-)

Not really that well thought out.

    6. when driving a supercar, would you prefer to be able to show off and stand out from the crowd? or would you prefer the car to be more subtle and understated?

    Show off and stand out
    Subtle and understated

Perhaps I want the car to looks mad (Aventador, perhaps) not because I want to show off, but just because I like the aesthetic. Where's my third option?

    8. Would you be willing to buy a car from a new company and be guaranteed exclusivity, even though the company has no reputation?

    yes
    no

Perhaps I'd be willing to buy off a new company without a track record because the car was good and I don't give a stuff about exclusivity. Where's my third option?
All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.
