This time of year the first thing I would do is give it a good clean - all sorts of sticky stuff gets in the mech or under the BB.
But, by the time it gets that gummed up I've found it's better to replace the mech and then keep it clean - they never feel as good even after a really good clean.I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -

The cable tension isnt too tight is it?
i was fiddling the other night after recently fitting a new front cable and slackened it off a 2mm as the shifter was quite hard to shift.
its now easy peasy!My winter bike is exactly the same as my summer bike,,, but dirty...0 -
Thanks for your advice. I have cleaned the mech after every ride. I will have a go at adjusting the gears as advised.
