Sram Rival Question

Would a 11spd Sram Rival set up work all ok with an older 10spd Rival chainset, I have one spare, so just wondered as it would save me money if I could use it.

    No, I believe it needs to be a specific 11 speed chainset.I just got Rival 22 on my Kuota which I expected to come with the Kuota branded Rival 10 speed chainset but it came with a Rival 11 for the reason stated above.

    I've ran 11 speed groupsets with 10 speed chainsets no problem, Red and Dura ace.

    Chainsets don't generally have a 10 or 11 speed designation so they should be OK.
