Anyone got pointers on good books or websites that can give clear advice on attempting routine tasks from indexing gears to servicing suspension and bottom bracket removal ? Looking to learn how to do my own repairs and servicing.

    I see... Thanks !
    The links are very helpful.

I am eager to track down a good book as internet access isn't always possible. So far Amazon appears to have some interesting books which I will study the descriptions and reviews...

Problem with Youtube is that the person could be a random idiot (obviously there are some good feeds), and books are outdated before they are published.
OK for generic stuff, but that is simple enough to read and then do anyway.

WH Smith are currently carrying The Complete Guide To Bike Repair And Maintenance (well, that's not the actual title, but it's something like that). It's a sort of bumper 'how to' which is a collection of quick guides culled from some magazine or other. It's quite good as a quick primer.
