Always gone with SPD (have done for 20 years or so), and considering these;

anyone got any experience of these 'trekking' pedals?
Will they stand up to abuse or am I better off with XT trail (heard bad things about XTR trail)?
Also considering these;
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/cran ... -prod68950
but heard they are a bit 'plasticky' (end caps etc), BUT they would look pretty, as am going with orange Ano
as preferred colour for finishing kit on my Alpine 160.
Any advice gratefully received...

If Wales was flattened out, it'd be bigger than England!

Not really sure what the point of the trekking pedals.
Crank Brothers pedals work well enough but some seem to get through bearings fast.
Shimano XT are excellent, they work very well and last well. I have just serviced mine for the first time in three years and they feel like new.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Shimano, pedal to suite budget, they just work, and carry on working....
My commuter cheapo M520 have now done over 5000miles....never touched them!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
