I have a Shimano Octalink BB and crank set, M391 crankset which uses one of these

I want to upgrade the crankset to the M770 9 speed

which has one of these BB's

My bike has a 73mm wide shell. Will it be a straightforward swap? Is there anything I need to consider when making the swap?

Straightforward swap of bbs. Ditch two of the spacers, using the remaining one on the drive side. The need different tools btw.A Flock of Birds

Thanks. I might actually ask a shop to fit it, to save me buying the tools.0

It's a simple swap and the tool is one of the most useful bicycle tools you will buy.
This is the best tool for the job

That tool will remove existing and fit the new ? The post above implied I needed two separate tools.0

You do need two. One to remove the Octolink and one to fit the BB2I don't do smileys.
