Broken Reverb button piston - help!

Having a bit of drama trying to fix my Reverb remote button in time before heading up to Inners on Friday. I snapped the button off in Bike Park Wales, so bought a button kit for about £40, but can't seem to find any vids or manuals anywhere on how to replace it. Does anyone know where I might be able to find it or done this before? I'm hoping the button bore hasn't been scored meaning the whole remote assembly will have to be bought (£120!!!) Highway robbery!!!
My only real problem seems to be trying to retrieve the broken part of the button piston from the button assembly. It seems to be stuck down there and without something thin and magnetic I can't see a way to get it out without risking scratching the bore (if it isn't already)

look at the link have you removed No 29? That looks to be the retaining clip0
