Can anyone please tell me if the rock shox xc32tk fork is just a newer model which has replaced the rock shox tora sl slite model?

Yes, the XC32 replaces the Tora. The TK model is better than the Tora SL because it has a compression damper.

Thank you rocketmonkey when you say compression damper do you mean the black plastic ajuster on the right hand fork leg which is underneath?

The one at the bottom of the fork leg is the red rebound adjuster. On the top there is a black air valve and a blue compression knob which on the TK is either open or locked.

There is a lot of overlap between the Tora/Recon Silver/XC32 series. The XC32 replaces the more basic, heavier Toras.
