Looking at one of the below as a new trail bike, part of me likes the simplicity of the 1 x 11 drive train part of me wants to stick with what I know and get the race version with the triple (which I would swap over to a double).... any comments on either bike and why you would go one way over the other?

Or scrap both and get a Canyon Nerve.... though not ridden a Canyon and the Stereo is a great bike to ride :)

Any comments welcome.....

Thanks

The Stereo 140 27.5 is new for 2015, very few people have ridden them, let alone own them as they're not due into this country until February. Of the two I'd go for the TM version, purely because it comes with a Pike fork and the rest of the build is focused on the UK market. The race has a great spec, already comes with a double but comes with a pretty weedy Fox 32 fork so I'd be wanting to change that to a Pike or Fox 34 anyway.

The initial reviews of the stereo look good though, the 160 came 2nd in WMB Trail bike of the Year and the 140 should be even better for the UK, I particularly like the changes they've made to the geometry, dramatically slashing seat tube height so you can size up in the frame for a bit of extra length in the cockpit and wheelbase. Certainly looking forward to trying one out!

Tough choice. I wouldn't want 1x11 due to the cost of replacing parts when they wear but I also wouldn't want the Fox 32 fork.
