Hi!
This autumn I bought BMC XC bike in cheapest spec.
This bike fly's like a rocket, bet unfortunately not literary :D I lost trail in front of me, and drooped in a small galley. Everything survived except cranks, I bent one crank arm and spider. I think I'm first guy to do that with shimano cranks :D
As bike has no cranks and I can't ride, I'm in a long winter upgrade phase.
First thing to upgrade is wheels. I already has bought HOPE pro 2 hubs and Stans ARCH EX rims.
Second thing is fork. New FOX forks feels like some cheep suntor little brothers, they are so plush like a hedgehog.
I'm thinking about SID XX fork or new REBA if I can't get enough money.
Third of course are cranks.
If I can manage some money during winter, I'll upgrade to some XT components.

So, this is my bike month ago.

BMC do make some nice looking bikes!

Unless you are really heavy (may explain that bent crank!) Arches are a bit of overkill really, either Crests or even Alpines would suite the bike better.

A Reba would be a decent upgrade over the Fox Evo.

As for XT, I'd consider replacing as parts wear out, otherwise it can get to the point where it would have been cheaper to buy a new bike very quickly.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Not only nice looking, but also very fast.

Crests weight limit is 85kg, I'm 90kg. If I can bend cranks, crests are no good for me.

So, I finished my bike, but not for me. I sold it to my friend.
    Finished product looked like this.
Hope pro2 hubs and crest rims.
    Rigid niner fork.

Crests are a lot stronger than people assume. I have 4 and yes I have dinged one of them, but it was in a welsh rock garden, on a hardtail with a talentless rider doing the driving. The other 3 are still going straight and true after 2 years abuse

If its an 85Kg limit I'm screwed already I weigh 88kg in my birthday suit. Been riding nearly two years without any issues mind.
