Please have a look at this bicycle, http://www.evanscycles.com/products/spe ... e-ec070667 and tell me what you think of it. I will be riding 10-20 miles traffic most days in city traffic, I generally ride standing entirely upright in the lowest gear. I like to be above the traffic so I can see what I am doing. I do also go on much longer rides where I will be sitting down. I am look for a fast bicycle that is good for traffic but won't limit me on longer rides. Bicycle must be quick and responsive. Bicycle costs £1600.00, please also tell me what you think in terms of value for money.
I previously had a specialized sirrus comp which was stolen, I like the sound of this bicycle as it is carbon and has disc brakes.

Can't really comment on value for money, but I had an aluminium Sirrus Sport for a few years and it is a great all round bike, especially if the emphasis is on commuting. I took mine on some long rides (up to 100 miles) and found it to be perfectly fine for that as well (with bar ends to give your hands a bit of variety position-wise). The Q&A on the website you've linked to says that it can take mudguards, a big plus if you have to go out in all weathers. The lack of rack mounts is worth bearing in mind. I don't much like rucksacks in warm weather, but that may not be a problem for others.
I'd have one as an n+1 if funds were unlimited.0 -
I had a Sirrus a while ago and didn't like it as much as the Marin Mill Valley I had. The head tube was a bit sit up and beg on the Sirrus.0

I'd have thought this is a slightly dodgy way to ride ? In the saddle you'll still have a good range of vision but be much better placed for braking and moving round. You don't see pro riders in the bunch riding like meerkats ?
1600 seems an awful lot of money for 105 to me. I've seen 105 on a full carbon bike for under a grand.
You could buy that for a grand (planet X) and then still spend £600 on a kaffenback for your commute.0
