Specialized FSR Comp Evo - Bearing Replacement

Hi guys,
Just a quick one really, I have owned a Specialized FSR Comp Evo for a year and a half now and would like to ask when others have replaced their bearings. In my time of ownership I have replaced the bearings twice and now it needs doing again?
I have been to Alps and Bike Parks on the bike and use for weekly XC/Trail rides so it by no means gets an easy ride of it! If anyone can confirm that this is normal then I will continue to have the bearings replaced bi-annually!!
My only other thought is that I require a more 'hardcore' frame for the antics I get up to!
