...as the next step up (to heaven presumably) from Kamikaze 5.... Why is it always the French, or maybe Kiwis, that seem to do this kind of thing, or is it just me?

    I managed to decelerate from 10 mph to zero in about the same time on my non rocket-powered bike.
    ( hit head on by a car travelling in opposite direction at 40 mph) :(

    I have no issue with someone trying something like this (although I think I've too good an imagination to try it myself) however the description of the vehicle as a "push bike" is nonsense. I notice it's fitted with pedals, chainset, chain, etc... but that's not providing propulsion so presumably it's just there so they can call it a "push bike". If the record is defined as highest speed on a rocket bicycle of a given weight or something, that's fine, but if the definition involves this being a "push bike" then I consider it contrived and silly.

    Funny, the only time I have seen people 'pushing' their bikes is uphill.
