I was hoping this thread would be about some ex-parter and include pics and stuff.
But I don't get out much. :oops:0 -
Maybe I'm a bit naive, but I didn't think people could waste so much of their life trolling around social media sites without meaning.
I know people can get into spats around this parish, but it's rare that someone comes along to be directly hateful and provocative for no reason.
Jeezzz, I hope I don't come across one of these tossers when out on my bike!0 -
Don't feed the trolls, just report it.
incase you don't know how
https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards
It violates on "Hate Speech", "Violence and Threats" and "Bullying and Harassment" so a hand full of reports should be enough to get it pulled.
It might make the guy who started it worse but it stops it spreading.I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0 -

It has been reported a lot but FB don't do anything.0 -
If you scroll down he's looking for ways of making go viral and putting ad's on.
You lot are giving him what he wants.
TBH it's no worse than some of the dirge we get on here...0 -
It's funny what Face muck see's as offensive. But seemingly ignores pages who's sole purpose is to whip up hatred and cause possible violence against others.0

The fact that 'cycle haters' lump all cyclists together is the thing that shows that its them with the problem lol.
Ironically, the guy he mentions cycling badly through the park is probably more similar to him, than me or most other cyclists.0 -
I reported but Facebook say this is ok.
Maybe this should go to the media?
It's totally unacceptable from anyone's point of view, even the use of offensive language would get it banned anywhere else. It is a public community forum and should be policed appropriately.0 -
Is this really that bad?
He doesn't seem to be saying anything wrong other than he hates cyclists, the rest of the posts are just him replying to angry cyclists, I think this is a case of ignore it and it will go away.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
As said above on a reply, we're just playing into his hand by linking to the page and bringing it free publicity. This one looks like a guy wanting his 15 minutes of fame, and cyclist are the beneficiaries of his immaturity. He has the delete option if a reply or post offends him, so its his game, all rigged and fixed, in his favor. Shame on me for clicking on the link, even.
Facebook isn't going to take a page like this down, to us its offensive, but its mild compared to some others dragging along the sewer that place has become. The more it gets visited and word of it spreads, the more he spreads his drivel.
One of the reasons I was only on Facebook for about 4 weeks, then left it behind. Its either ranting or telling the world about what you just had for lunch, or posting a suggestive, sick selfie.Lets just got for a ride, the heck with all this stuff...0 -
The first comment on this photo made me laugh https://www.facebook.com/20092680992892 ... =1&theaterWe should start mass producing those signs to make it clear until we can get rid of the cyclist lanes...
Yep, close down all cycle lanes, that will help...0 -
What's the problem? The title of it, or specific parts of the content?
People are free to have whatever they want get on their nerves, for example it could just as easily be about something like finding people who block the pavement by walking side by side at 1mph.
It's not worth worrying about, let people have their moans and entertain themselves expressing it. It's hardly going to turn someone who has never been annoyed by cyclists into someone who is (and even if it did, so what).
If you live in a bubble just don't let something as trivial as this facebook page upset your bubble for you.0 -

The video of a woman having her head cut off with a chainsaw didn't get removed so I doubt that they'll be bothered about a few moaning cyclists.0

At least the comments below the Guardian piece (see Facebook page side post) are much much better than the Mail and Express et al.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)
