HELP!!!! I'm 5ft11 and currently have a CAADX 105 size 54. I want to invest in a new road bike and im torn between the new 2015 CAAD10 or the Supersix. My budget is around £1700. I visited my local shop and seen the CAAD10 Ultegra 3 in mat black and loved it. I had a Giant Defy and after 20miles started to get a sore back, that's why I got the CAADX for a more relaxed ride. Looking for help... my hearts telling me CAAD10 but its top end aluminium with Ultegra groupset. Im trying to get something as close to my CAADX as I can....

Also any advice on size.. keeping in mind the CAADX is 54"

  • If the Defy gave you a sore back then you wont like the CAAD10 or a supersix. They both have the same aggressive geometry as they are race bikes.
If you want a cannondale and want a more relaxed geometry you should try a synapse.

Most people do get sore backs when they start cycling and think its due to the 'aggressive' geometry.
Did you get a sore back on the Defy because you were generally unfit and not used to cycling?
If you've done plenty of miles since your Defy then maybe you can go back to something like the CAAD10 because your back has strengthened and general fitness improved.

I thought the CAAD10, SuperSix and CAAD X all had the same geometry...
