I know there is a massive thread about chinese carbon somewhere around here, but I would be interested to see if anyone has found any particular bargains from the 11.11 sale on alibaba/aliexpress.

something like that should be $350 tomorrow. Anyone found any other good deals or have recommendations? Unfortunately the forum favorites don't have big offers on, though farsports are 15% cheaper and there are $100 off coupons available.

(I hope I don't come off as a rep for alibaba, I just want to buy some cheap carbon wheels and tomorrow looks like a good chance to do so.)

What do you know of these wheels and their reliability ? I'd rather pay a bit more and at least have the fallback of a shop to take them to and a brands reputation. Look up the Planet X wheels - not expensive.

I wasn't really looking to start a big chinese carbon wheel debate again, just ask if anyone had seen any good deals here and could maybe recommend something.

But to answer your question, no I don't know much about the wheels and their reliability, that's why I am asking! I have read lots of positive feedback about other chinese carbon wheels. Mainly from Farsport and dengfu..

Where did you read these bullshxt?

Planet X buy rims straight from the supplier (typically Gigantex) and have them built (often in the UK).

I think you are very misinformed... there is a big difference between reputable Chinese businesses who sell direct and the average Alibaba scammer
