Saddle like Charge Spoon - but a little different?!

On my two bikes I currently have a Charge Spoon and a Maddison Prime. I believe these are pretty much the same and they are OK. I'd say I slightly prefer the Maddison.
I have tried a Charge Scoop as well but didn't like it as much.

As I know it is impossible to recommend a saddle to anyone else based on your own experience. So, what I'm asking is for any ideas on saddles that aren't a giant leap from the Spoon, but I might find a little more comfy. If it makes any difference I'm 65Kg.

The two saddles I'm currently thinking about are the Fizik Antares and the Specialized Romin.

Whatever I go for I'll probably try and get cheap on eBay to test.

Don't buy cheap to test. You should be able to find a LHS that does trial Fizik saddles and Specialised dealers generally take the saddle back within 30 days so long as it's unmarked. It perfectly feasible to test these saddles without ending up owning stuff you don't want

There's not many bike shops down my way and I don't think my closest do saddle trials. Given the 2x round trips to any other bike shop at 1/2 hr each way, plus fuel and the fact that if I bought from one of them it would cost me at least half as much again, picking up a lightly used saddle off eBay for £30-40 works out a lot cheaper, even if it has to go back on there in a few weeks.

Is the Charge scoop a little too rounded? Charge are now selling saddles as the brand "Fabric" (I guess so that you don't have to have a different bike brand logo on you ride). Most are similar to the scoop but with different amounts of 'curve' and padding.

Interesting. They probably make as much out of the saddles as the rest of the company combined. Scoop seems to come in a range of profiles now too.
Looking at their fit guide I came out between the "Line" and the "Scoop" - unfortunately the Line isn't out till next spring...

I have a Charge Scoop and the fit says the same for me - borderline Scoop or Line. Boo, I didn't realise the other saddles aren't out until next year. I may try the Flat or Shallow Scoop (as the old Charge Scoop is the same as the current Radius) as it feels OK but maybe a bit too curved over really long rides.
  • Well, I just bought a new Fizik Airone. I measured my sit bones, touched my toes and read what some random people had written on various forums.

I tried to buy one cheap on eBay, but the cretins on there were bidding them up to within a few quid of the new price?! So, I figured, buy the saddle, if I hate it stick it on eBay, probably make a profit!
