Have your dhb Vaeon Roubaix Tights stretched?

Might seem like an odd question, but I'm replacing an old pair which are XL but are too big for me now. The design seems to have changed a bit since I got my last ones, so I ordered L and XL to try in case the fit was different. The XL fits perfectly and are much snugger than my old XL's, but if they are going to stretch as much as my old ones then I'll go with the L. Any help is appreciated.

  • I have two pairs. Wore and washed them probably thirty times each last winter. No change in size as far as I can see.
  • I've got the small/ med version and have had them for nearly 2 years now- they're coming into their 3rd winter now and I can't say I've noticed them stretch. I guess you wash them at 30C on a gentle cycle?
But to be fair they are made of similar stuff to the other bits of kit so if they haven't streched under the same washing conditions then that wouldn't be the problem.
  • I bought two pairs at the same time two years ago (size M). I wore 1 pair throughout the winter for 1 year and stuck the other pair in a drawer, the following year an increase in the amount of winter training and much more commuting meant both pairs were needed and the fresher pair were noticeably tighter, they still are but I still wear them less than the others.

    hope this helps

  • I've found this but I don't think they stretch, rather its that the elasticity lessens over time so they don't compress down so much when older and don't fit as snugly.
  • Cheers for the replies everyone.
I think I'll go with the L, they fit ok so even if they don't loosen a little bit I'll still live. My old XL pair have exactly the same waist size when held up next to the new pair, but when they are on, the old pair seem quite a bit looser around the waist...which is what was getting annoying.

That's what I mean, as they age the size in a side by side comparison doesn't change but because the older ones lose elasticity they don't snug down and fit as well. IME all Lycra stuff does this but better quality more expensive stuff takes longer to do it.
