Nasty, will take some time to recover from all those broken ribs.
  • She was out riding in a group which included he boyfriend, Matt and his brother, Luke Rowe.
Bloke who hit the hidden pot hole managed to stay upright, bloke behind didn't, Dani ploughed in.
She now has the pleasure of a stay at Merthyr's Guernos Estate.(the KC Hospital)
Becky's going to visit if she can get an armed escort. :P

Getting her nails done. On oxygen? Must be having a lot of trouble breathing.

You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Ouch. That'll take a few days to heal up! Sounds nasty indeed.

Oxygen can speed up the time the chest drain is in (the plastic container on the floor) and is pretty standard procedure these days.

Is she ever not smiling? She's bloody great, isn't she 8)

Here's hoping for a quick recovery.

Was just a bike crash, we've all had them.

    Attention seeking comment much?

I hope she gets well soon, I've met her and she seems like a really nice person. Anyway this is the pro race section and a pro rider has had a nasty crash, surely that is worth mentioning on here?

Yep, lovely girl. She didn't even have a diva strop when she entered my race late and I put her in the reserves. Hope she recovers quickly, it's reaching the start of the key part of the cycle for Olympic hopefuls.

The pneumothorax shouldn't have any lasting effects once the drain is removed - I have raced (not at her level mind!) under a week after a drain was removed.

Busted ribs might take a little longer to get back up to speed with though - but I would hope that, from my own personal experiences, that there shouldn't be too much to stop her training once that drain is out.

Hope she heals up fast - she seems like a lovely lady and very optimistic - which is half the battle whenever you are recovering from anything really!

Don't think anyone is treating her like a hero in the same way that the millions that lost their lives in the First World War.

You would have to be very cold hearted not to wish her well.

Does highlight a couple of things.

    (1) British roads are not in a great shape.
    (2) So glad we have the NHS to pick up the pieces when we have issues.

    Get well soon Dani x

Didn't say i wasn't wishing her well, i was simply pointing out she's not a bluddy hero just for falling off her bike like some people on here are blowing sunshine up her. I wish her well to, but come on, if this was an article about 'Sarah from London' who came off her bike and had a few grazes, nobody would give a flying f*ck.
So some of you keyboard warriors on here that wouldn't say the things you have about my comment to my face (trust me, you wouldn't Gazzaput) need to take their head out there backsides and realise they have only commented on the basis its 'Dani King'.
She fell off, she cut herself. Big deal, get well soon, move along. But lets not treat her like she's just got shot up at Ypres and theres a bluddy headstone and poppy waiting for her. Jeeez...I know there's no cycling on TV at the moment but lets not make an issue about something that doesn't need to be made an issue out of.
I rode through Epping Forest last week and saw another cyclist hit a squirrel in front of me..poor squirrel...shall i start a post about that ffs!

And you didn't say "Poor Dani - Get Well Soon" which is a standard response for matters like this. Nobody said she was a hero along the lines of somebody who has served in the military in appalling conditions giving their life to protect their country. You drew the comparison. You felt the need to respond in a very negative manner

As for "Sarah from London" she isn't a Pro cyclist so it I would find it bizarre to find a story about her posted in here. Dani King is a Pro Cyclist so it is entirely appropriate for it to be posted here. If "Sarah from London" posted it on her Facebook page I am sure there would be many people wishing her well. Probably more than have spoken on this thread.

Many would have spoken up if it was somebody else say Wiggins, Basso or Gilbert. I probably wouldn't have said anything for those but I feel that the likes of Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell and Dani King are great role models for young women today.

That's why I have jumped in there and said what I said.

Having had the odd tumble off the bike I know it hurts and I would wish anyone who suffered the same get well soon.

    Even you!
  • I thought the fact she is a pro cyclist in the pro cycling forum would allow this to be discussed but maybe not.

    Wow.

I am worried about "Sarah from London" where can I post my good wishes for her to?

Please don't. You'll have 'The Friends of Epping Forest Squirrels' on your case and lordy knows where that will all end once PETA find out decide squirrels are being run over by cyclists to make fur coats

As I'm not a lady please can someone who's lady is around (TDM is away again so I can't ask her to do it and she'd only post some gibberish in Dutch anyhow) to post my best wishes to Sarah from London in the Ladies' Only section.

While they are at it, any chance of either her or Sarah from London posting some piccies of their norks in BB? As I mentioned, with TDM being away there is a severe lack of norkage in the Falle household at the moment.

    Thank you very much.

  • Although sentiments could be withheld as so what if people want to discuss her crash and send her get well messages.

That being said, riders, bigger riders at that, crash in training and there are not posts all the time they do.
