Garmin Connect Android App - Can't Sign In

Garmin Connect refuses to sign in on my S4 mini. I have the same app on my Nexus 7, and it works with no issues - same username and password obviously.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, also resetting the password with no change . Bit of a pain, as I've just bought an 810 and can't use the BT function (the phone is already paired to the 810 awaiting connection)
Anyone else have this, or suggest an alternative app to upload via BT
This is all I get

Do you use a separate account just for Garmin, or do you use your Google+ account to sign in. It's possible that the app may be trying to sign in using the "wrong" account. Have a look in the apps Settings and see who it thinks you are trying to sign in as.0

Hmm, I did try to sign in with Google+ before resetting my password. Maybe that's confusing things, I'll have a look at the settings and see what I can change

Dammit.........Need Android 4.3 to run it on the S4 Mini, I have 4.2.2
Doesn't look there's any plans to roll out that update (it's around a year old now)
New phone needed if I want the BT options0 -
If you root your phone you will be able to install a ROM based on a newer version of Android e.g. Kit Kat (4.4). I've updated a few phones this way but not Samsungs. Some are very easy to root and upgrade but there is a chance of your phone dying if you don't follow the instructions carefully. "XDA developers" is a good website for info.0
