Help fitting guards to an Equilibrium Disc
Just built up a 2014 Equilibrium Disc and gone to fit the guards and have a query!
The rear guard (SKS Chromoplastics) fit the frame on the bridge between the chain stays and on the mounts near the axle as normal. On my CDF I also fixed the guards to the bridge on the seat stays and this is where I have a problem and the hole in the seat stay bridge is drilled top to bottom rather than front to back so I cant get a fixing here. Any idea why?

Is the hole in the seat stay bridge a clearance hole or is it tapped (threaded) on the underside?0

don't think its threaded0

I'm not familiar with the Equilb. frame, are you sure that the hole is not threaded on the underside of the Seat Stay Bridge? What type of SKS guards are you fitting P35?
Usually with that arrangement you remove the supplied sliding bridge mounting bracket from the guard and drill a clearance hole in the mudguard to correspond with the fixing point on the underside of SS Bridge so the guard is mounted directly to frame.
Can you post any photo's up? Are there any adaptors in the mudguard fixing kit to allow you to fit the guard without drilling it?0 -
I had this issue with my Rose DX Pro and took exactly the approach that DJ58 suggests.
I fitted the rear guard using the mounts to the axle and at the very front end just behind the crank to get the position / curve correct. I put a piece of masking tape on the outside of the guard and marked exactly where the bridge was. Drilled a hole, used a flat headed machine screw (the hole is threaded on the Rose) from the inside and got the distance just right by using some fibre washers.
Here's a couple of pics - hope they help
