A shame. I enjoy using the score to track improvements, but don't think I get enough out of it to warrant paying for it.
Although maybe it's just because I am in a mood with the site after getting to 90.5, and being there for a few weeks, it suddenly dropped me to below 90.

    Noooooooooooooo!

I really enjoy using VeloViewer, some of the stats and graphs are great.

It always did seem quite resource intensive for them though, syncing all of those activities, updating segment rankings, populating leaderboards etc etc. Fair play, I hope Ben makes a good income from it, I'll certainly consider going Pro when the new season training starts in earnest.

One gripe I do have with the rankings is that some climbs have so many Strava segments going up them, that when you really nail that one climb and all those segments pop up in your top 100, it somewhat artificially inflates your score, when in reality all you've done is beast one really popular climb.

    Nonetheless, great site.
  • Worth every penny for what he's done
  • Fair enough he needs money to keep the site running but i dont like the fact that strava free users have nearly every function available to them, yet veloviewer who without strava wouldnt exist have made there site useless to non subscribers.

I'am a strava premium member,i have yet to decide on veloviewer.
  • Strava is a multi million pound company with various income streams and a dedicated workforce to cater to its free and premium members...veloviewer is one man's pet project with a please donate to help plea....not enough did and now as its grown the bandwidth and hosting is costing too much to pay out....If you use it I don't think £10 a year is unreasonable...

Yeah, I was a bit alarmed when I read the first post - £10 a month would have been a very bitter pill to swallow but £10 for the year seems good value for all the extra data and stats (and a mere fraction of the cost of strava premium).

Count me out. Anyone who has the time to spare writing a pointless website that gathers & manipulates cycling-related stats deserves nothing. What a complete waste of time just why would you blah con't p94 etc.

    Worth every penny actually...
  • Hmm, the extra details are nice, but they aren't that useful. The count of rides in different distance/ climb/ time brackets is nice, as is the tracker of distance compared to previous years, but the rest is pretty meaningless.

He has put an awful lot of work into getting it to work, so fair enough he wants to get something out of it but I'm not sure if it's worth paying £10 for the gimmick.
