I want to replace the Campag Veloce chain on my bike. Can any 10 speed chain link removal tool do the job, or would it be best to bite the bullet and buy the proper Campag (UT-CN200) tool?
Thanks
Thanks

Any 10 speed tool will remove it. Fit the new one with a quicklink.Ben

Cheers Ben. When you say use a quick link, are these the ones to use?....

Unless you're dead set on a Campag chain, don't buy a quick link separately, get a KMC or SRAM 10 speed chain and it will come with one included0

I have a Veloce chainset and cassette, if I use a KMC chain, would I have comparability issues or is a 10 speed chain a 10 speed chain. Irrespective of the make?Ribble Ultralite Racing 7005, Campagnolo Veloce groupset, Campagnolo Khamsin G3 wheel set0 -

No compatibility issues, just go for the best deal available. Lighter more expensive chains are not worth it on a veloce bike, just get a KMC X10, X10/93 or whatever. SRAM chains are often at good prices too - PC 1031 and PC1051 are fine. Just check wiggle, Planet X and chain reaction etc and get what looks best.0 -
Just one thing to consider if you get spare KMC quick links to keep for emergency.
If you have a campag 10 speed chain, you need 'campag-specific' KMC 10-speed quick link.
If you have a KMC or a Shimano 10-speed chain, you need a 'standard' KMC 10 speed quicklink.0 -
Sorry to dig this up but I bought a KMC X10/93 to use with a Veloce groupset and it was pretty bad. I bought it as I needed a bit of extra chain length after changing up from a compact chainset.
The cassette is almost new too.
When I had the KMC on it felt horribly clunky changing gear and I couldn't get it to go in some gears first time at all. Original Veloce chain works great.
What was strange is I bought the chain from Chain Reaction. They had two X10/93 chains at very different prices and the one I bought I could only find via a Google search. Just wondered if this was an old model or something?0 -
Brought a veloce chain and can't get the chain link out to cut the chain to the right size.
Anymore advice on the best KMC chain to use and what tools are necessary?

Same tools for ANY 10sp chain. Get a decent chain tool - or give the one you have a bit more welly0 -
I use the KMC 10-93 chain on a veloce casstte and miche cassettes and shifting is smooth. I have tried Veloce chains on the same cassettes and the shifting is the same. It is slightly better with a record chain but it is pretty marginal and could be all in my my head.
KMC chains work well.
As for tools any good chain tool is a good idea like a Park tool worhsop CN 4.2 expensive but worth it if you work on your bikes often.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -

I'm going to give the KMC 10-93 another go as I'd like to use it. Have nothing against KMC chains, I use an SL with my 11 speed Chorus bike and it works perfectly. Lighter than the Record chain IIRC too.0
