Any thoughts on the new 2015 CAAD10 Black Inc Disc?
My roots are in the MTB, and I have never owned a road bike. Now I am looking for one (group rides, triathlon, etc.). Supersix EVO Ultegra/RED and/or CAAD10 Ultegra/Black Inc Disc are on my list. However, I really like the idea of having hydraulic disc brakes on a road bike.
FYI, the 2015 Caad10 Black Inc Disc weights 16.36 lbs in a size 56.

  • To me it's a good bike. You get one of the best alu race bike frame, the top transmission and light weight wheelset.

I've got Domane Disc. Hyd Db is really a good idea. Not sure about 100/135 quick release tho. It's not as easy to align the wheel than using thru axle.

  • Thanks for your opinion!
I have been reading somewhere about these DB alignment issues as well. However, on my mt. bike-Cannondale F29 Carbon, which also has a standard QR (in front there is the Lefty proprietary axle), I have not noticed such a problem. So what is speacial about road bikes with QR that makes it harder to align the wheel?

Nothing and there is no problem. QR is perfectly acceptable and any claim to the contrary is marketing to justify another un-needed 'improvement' used to try to influence purchasing decisions.

  • Qr on it's own is fine, no problem, nth wrong.
Thru axle is just easier to align comparing to qr.

  • What about the availability of the 2015 CAAD10 Black Inc model? Are they only available in limited quantities, so that I shouldn´t expect a "significant" discount (compared to other models) at the end of season?

It's not available in the UK as far as I know, we just get the blue Sram Rival disc CAAD10.
