Cheshire / North Wales cross country racing?

My son's a strong competitor in XC running, but for his kicks MTB'ing is what keeps him smiling.

He'll be 15 over this Christmas period, I was just wondering if he wanted to dip his toes into racing in the local area (Cheshire, North Wales) where would be look out for info on races? I'm presuming cross country racing as he doesn't have any Downhill / Enduro experience or kit!

We've both signed up for the Fearless duathlon up at Llandegla in Feb 15 for a laugh - he'll be right up there in the running, will be interesting to see how he gets on in the riding too - he leaves me for dust, but he's only riding a 2011 Hardrock so if nothing else he has a disadvantage in terms of equipment. I'll find out how he gets on a good half hour later when I finish :-)
