TT parts on a road bike

I was offered a TT crank the other day at a massive discount from a riding pal who has just upgraded his Canyon TT bikes groupset.
I considered it for a moment but is there any reason not to put an aero TT crank on a standard road bike? Its a Vision Trimax 53/39 carbon crank which would be a considerable upgrade from a FSA gossamer but im not sure if it would just look, well, wrong!
