Fitting new Campag shifters - ferrules?

I'm about to fit new Campag Centaur (Ergopower) shifters complete with new outer and inner cables.

Googling around I've got a bit confused as to where (if anywhere) I need to fit outer cable ferrules.
I believe I don't need to fit them where the cables go into the shifters - either gear or brake cables.
After that I'm confused
- into the barrel adjusters at the top of the down tube?
- into the barrel adjuster of the RD?
- into the brakes?

Any advice gratefully received. :D

My experience is with cabling up Shimano systems but my guess is that it would be the same for Campag also.

In my previous bike builds I have omitted ferrules from the cables where they go into the shifters as you intimated. Not sure if this is standard practice but I rationalised it on the basis that if I had to install new inners at any point in the future, it would be easier to do so with the ferrules absent and avoid having to unwrap the bars in the process.

I have installed ferrules in all the other appropriate places - downtube cable stops/adjusters, chainstay cable stop, rear derailleur barrel adjuster, brake cable stops and caliper adjusters.

This is just my opinion so I stand to be corrected

You've just about got it right -

    No ferrules into the levers.
Generally, ferrules into the downtube adjusters, hosuing stop on the seat stay - and into the rear mech. Occasionally, you'll get specialised internally-routed cable stops built into frames that don't need ferrules - but that'll be obvious as the outer will feel snug without the ferrule and impossible to insert with (like the levers).

However, some brake calipers don't need ferrules - certainly, the Campagnolo skeleton calipers don't. Not 100% sure about the solid calipers but the calipers adjusters look the same design so I would think not. But it'll be obvious if they don't need them as they won't fit.

PS - try to use the Campag metal ferrules (or similar), as it seems like they can be a little wider than the generic plastic ones.

As above, none in the shifters, only in all the frame stops. Use decent cutters and if you have one a bench top grinder is perfect for finishing off the cut ends totally clean and flush.
