  • I was looking at getting one of these to build up with a 5800 group set. Couple of questions if I may:

    - Can you confirm the bottom bracket size, is it PF30?
    - What is the arrangement for the internal cables through the bottom bracket shell, a picture of the underside of the bottom bracket would be great?

    Cheers.
  • Yes the BB is PF30, iam using the ribble PF30 to 24mm cups and so far (only done 50miles) feel ok no clicks or creaks. I will try get some pics on later of the underside.

    And Campagnolo wheels.
  • Definitely want one of these! Can I ask how are you finding it? Looks superb. :D
  • Well this is my first proper road bike in 30 years. So I'm just trying to get my fitness levels up. LOl It's hard work but so far I'm loving it.

Hi guys, I really interested with this bike. But do you guys know how this one compare with R872?
  • I think this has a more relaxed sportive riding position. Where as the r872 has a more racing setup.
  • Yes a little more relaxed than r872. So far so good feels stiff, responsive and handles well, have yet to try it on a long ride (over 2 hours) for comfort but at the moment iam really happy with it. Stuck fulcrum quattros on it today a little more pleasing to the eye than the fulcrum 7s. Performance wise i will hopefuly find out over the weekend. Chainset swapped out to 105 5800 to match the rest of the groupset a little lighter too.

Looks like the R872 frameset is no longer available. Ribble site no longer offering it as a separate purchase. Shame.
    Someone's just passed me again

Sems to be the case with a lot of their frames (Grand fondue, Aero833, sportive azzuro, HF83) . Perhaps they don't have enough to sell frame only and build up as complete bikes? Maybe they have some lovely new stuff ploughing its way through the south China seas?

These look like excellent framesets either bought separately or as part of a full Ribble build. The geometry looks spot on too.

    Any further thoughts chaps?

Also how much tyre clearance is there? Would you be able to get large 25mm tyres like the Michelin Pro4 range in the frame?
