Cant remove hub end caps

Seem the hub bearing on my Cobalt 3 front wheel is knackered, but for the life of me I can't remove the end caps. Crank Brothers say wrap pliers in duct tape and pull them off. I have tried this and tried mole grips, i have scratched it up a bit despite their duct tape idea, and I can't get the caps off even a smidge.

Any ideas please?

Put in soft-jaw vice and pull hard!

Insert a Qr skewer through one endcap at such an angle that it catches on the inside of the other (rather than passing through). You can then use a rubber mallet on the skewer head to tap out the end cap from the other side.

He's got the end caps off. Today's exciting episode is removing the bearings.

Lol yes indeed Cooldad they are off thanks to mole grips and an elastic band. The next step will not be tonight however, the next installment in this saga may not now be until Tuesday/Wednesday.
