Whistler 2015 - Advice Please

Giving some hard thought to taking a trip to Whistler with a friend of mine in 2015 and I'm wondering if anyone has any general advice on the subject.

I'm planning on hiring a bike whilst I'm out there rather than risking old faithful on the plane. So beyond that I guess maybe when to go / where to stay / how long to stay / what to ride / see... that sort of thing. Considering doing some of the guided stuff / lessons whilst out there too, to get a better grasp on the place.

Any suggestions on the best months to go? I guess ideally I'd like to balance weather vs the place being absolutely rammed.
