Hi All,

New to the forum as looking for some advice, done plenty of research and came across 3 bikes that I'm looking to see what the best value is. Seems stock the Fuji has the best wheels however I could be completely off the mark!

Fuji SST 2.1 2014 - 1600 pounds
Colnago CLX 3.0 Ultegra 2014 - 2000 pounds
NeilPryde Nazare Ultegra - 1750 pounds instore

All have full Ultegra and decent low spec wheels. I'd be looking to get this all on Cycle to Work and can get a voucher of 2000 pounds for an overall cost of 1400 over 12 months. The NeilPryde bike I would hope to do a deal with the LBS to upgrade wheels to Mavic Kysrium Elite wheels a it should come to about 2k in total.

Everyone's thoughts? Looking for light aero bike, will be used all round but my riding style prefer speed. I currently have a Carrera bike so any new bike here is going to be a massive improvement!

Before you decide you may want to confirm that all of these are available in your size.

The fuji is available in two sizes - 50cm and 60cm

The Colnago is available in a 45cm.

The Dales link takes you to a ladies waterproof.

They will be heavily discounted because they are the last of the stock and they may not be getting anymore to sell at that price.

The Neil Pryde is availbale in a 56cm.

So unless you match one of these sizes you may need to be searching further afield.

The other point to note is that some places don't do discounted bikes on C2W so call them and ask.

Consider Pauls cycles, they have a wide range of bikes - they allow C2W on sales bikes and allow top ups:

it is possible to buy something like this:

What sort of riding are you planning on doing?

From what I can tell, the Fuji is a crit' bike, the Colnago is more endurance the and Neil Pryde is an aero racer.
  • Have you looked at a Rose? You gets a lot of Rose for 2000....
  • The area I live is quite hilly but also includes a mix of long flats. Will be mostly doing 45-60 mile cycles each weekend which I am currently doing on a Carrera bike so would expect my speed and distance to go up with a 5 kg lighter bike and far better spec'd. Need to get properly fitted but am aware a certain size, ie 54 is not the same across all bikes,

I'll take a look at the Rose site was also looking at Ribble.

For 2k i'm expecting a full Ultegra, good frame and good wheels. A lot of packages i've looked at have low spec wheels which doesn't seem worth the 2k. Any suggestions welcome as it's a minefield out there for a newcomer to cycling!

+1 for this, I doubt you could get a better bike for that money.

Ribble R872 gets amazing reviews, can be bought with ultegra 6800 11 speed for under £1400. Would leave you a cracking budget for a nice set of wheels :)
