Can anyone recommend any good bike shops in London, easy accessible via the tube. I'm there with the wife on Saturday and will have a couple of hours to kill while the other half does what she does best and shops.

I would rather browse and ogle bike po** and try stuff on that I cant afford

I've already got Rapha pencilled in for the cant afford bit, anywhere else for high end bikes that you cant get at Evans and similar for clothing.

Cheers everyone.

There's also the giant store, slightly out of the way from Leicester Square area, its not far from St Paul's.
Rapha's good for coffee and a light lunch whilst watching the pro race. It's only small, I go during the week and it's not too busy, not sure how busy it will be on a weekend.
Condor bikes over near farringdon is pretty good. Nice selection of bikes, selling some ex pro bikes at the moment. They also have a selection of rapha clothing, as well as some Assos, Sportful and Condor.
  • As well as Condor 'Bespoked' is nearby on Farringdon road - you need to ring the bell for them to let you in, but they are very friendly and happy to let you browse.

Mosquito bikes may be a bit far away on Essex road, islington but have some good stuff in there...

....and there's lots more depending on how much time you wanna spend! But those are pretty good for a start

cracking, thanks for replies, keep em coming :)

I don't mind hopping on and off the tube, been to the Rapha shop before and they do a good coffee and last time someone had a nice custom Parlee with some lightweight wheels that I was drooling over while eating my toast !! :)
  • A bit further out and would require a train rather than tube, Shorter Rochford in Radlett always get very good reviews.

As an aside, does anyone know if the Giant store is a rebranded Cycle Surgery. I know the Specialized Concept stores are.

Bespoke, Jermyn St. Condor, Greys Inn Rd. Mosquito, Essex Rd. Brick Lane Bikes, Bethnal Green Rd.

They are the only ones in town worth looking at IMO.

Sigma in Kingston is great and Pearsons in Sheen pretty good if you have the time to go SW.

The Specialized shop in Kingston is run by Sigma Sport, I guess anyone can get the franchise if they meet the criteria required.

I'd drop Sigma from your list - it's a 30-40 minute journey each way out of Waterloo to Kingston, then a 15-20min walk over the bridge to the shop.
  • You have to go to Condor.

I think Kinoko is no longer a bricks and mortar establishment sadly. Online only.

Can recommend Condor, went there yesterday. Great bunch of lads there, and the bikes are amazing! Also Rapha, exceptional brownies, and the coffee ain't bad either!

    Damn!! I missed that one!!

Great day - only managed condor and bespoke but two great shops with lots of bling. The Parlee's at Bespoke with the Lightweight wheels. It's a good job I'm from oop north!! if I was in close proximity to them on a regular basis my bank balance might be in serious trouble!!

Then onto Rapha for a very decent coffee. It was rammed. Good to see the bike shop's doing well.

Only spent on building up brownie point's with the wife as well so all in all a good day!!

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

    I'll get the other's next time :)
