help on which bike

Hi I have had a carera Ted bike and now I would like to move up I'm looking for the best bike I could buy for a budget of £1000 . I use the bike to do club rides in the week and would like to do some sportives . I'm not that bothered about frame material . Can you make some suggestions thanks

    Go 2nd hand if you dont mind for the simple reason that there are bikes out there being sold because some people have decided that road cycling isn't for them and you got real value for money. Eg. my mate bought a Spesh for £1.3k and used it 3 times and its been in his garage ever since. I would have bought it off him but its too big. He can't even be bothered to put in on the flea bay

    Dolan, ribble , planet x all seem good value for money and also rose and canyons if you dont mind buying without being able to see if the bike fits
