Off to watch the revolution track meet at velo park sat evening. I'm struggling with walking so want to know how far a trek it is from the closest car park. I know there is disabled parking out front, but i'm not quite there yet!

If I remember correctly it's less than a mile from the westfield shopping center car park.

Good call dave35! Thanks very much.
I fortuitously stumbled across this thread.
My family and I are going to the World Cup in December for both sessions on Saturday, and I have spent a couple of hours this afternoon Googling and contemplating travel arrangements and parking!
I notice it is cheaper at the station and presumably a bit closer to the Velodrome?
How long would it take to walk back to Westfield as we are thinking of eating in one of the restaurants there in between the sessions.
Unless you have any other better recommendations?
    Thanks,
    Gary.
Oh and I feel like I've been raped by an Orangutan  And I've got legs like Girders

There is also a car park at the lee valley hockey and tennis centre ( entrance opposite new spitalfields market on the A106)
It's 5 mins normal walk to Velodrome from there. I know this cos half our lads hockey team was struggling to find the hockey pitch but found the Velodrome at the weekend!

Problem parking at hockey/tennis is you might find the car park closed when you go to collect your car at night.
Westfield is a 15 min walk from the velodrome,or there's a kfc in Leyton mills-5 min drive.
  • When I went to the revolution races there was quite a bit of free parking on the road just outside the velodrome

Park on the road at your peril, you will get a parking ticket-about 20 cars ticketed last week-commuters thinking it's free parking. And it will be marshalled as its permits only.
Please park in stratford international as if you park at hockey/tennis you will not be going home in your car that night-gates will be locked.
  • really? my bad, I didn't see any yellow lines or no parking signs
