    Let's hope he is ok
  • Not a lot new in the Dutch press, but they are reviewing whether to cancel the event altogether.

Not sure if it's down to the bad google translate but one report I read saying there is a possibility he suffered a stroke on the bike which led to the accident and that he needed resuscitating on the track.

I know the crash looked bad, but in the replay the derny actually ran up his arm (like a ramp) and over him landing heavily on one of the riders - he didn't take the big impact you assume.

    Anyway, best wishes to him.

Well, I didn't study the footage but that's what I took from the replay's on Eurosport. At first I thought it was the rider the derny landed on that was in a bad way.

It looks like he wasn't concious when the other bike hit him form the video. Not very pleasant.

Lets hope he makes a full recovery.

Racing is on and Yoeri Havik will start. Cees Stam still critical but stable.

I was watching a bit of the racing earlier, the derny driver suffered a cardiac arrest. He was stabilised, taken to hospital where he is stable but understandably in a critical condition. His family have said they want the racing to continue.

    Hope he recovers well.

Terpstra is an absolute beast - took a lap with ease in the derney race (in just 4 laps) and then went past the field to win by a further half lap!

He's been really strong all week.

Since they were babbling on about it so much over the six days of racing I decided to make some stammpot. Really rather nice but had to use chorizo instead of rookwurst as you try buying that in Essex...
